Wesley HarrisLead Pastor
My life has been a tremendous journey and I believe that the best that God has for us all is still to come. I thank God for the opportunity to introduce myself and our ministry to you. I pray that this introduction acts as a catalyst for a long relationship between us. Allow me to share some about my family, my educational background and my employment (outside of the church) and then finally introduce you to this wonderful church family that God has ordained.
My wife Yvette and I have been married for twenty-one (21) years. God has blessed us with three beautiful children Wesley, Jr., Chanel and Logan; they are the greatest earthly gift God has given to me. They are my constant reminder of what an awesome and mighty God we serve. I honor my wife for the tremendous genuine job that she has done in raising our children to be loving, respectful and God fearing; genuine because I always know where to find her whenever the church doors are opened; teaching and nurturing our youth. What a blessing she is and has been through it all; even college. Talking about stressful but God is faithful.
By the grace of God and the support of my wonderful wife, I graduated from Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering; a task that only God could accomplish and one that would launch a successful career according to God’s plan.
I am currently the Florida District Plant Engineering Manager for UPS; the world’s largest delivery and supply chain solutions company. I direct and manage an average annual budget of $70M which includes new facility construction, existing operations and facility improvements, environmental compliance, air dangerous goods compliance, training, system reliability, asset protection and housekeeping.
In my more than twenty-five (25) year tenure at UPS I have worked as a Project Engineer, Region Environmental Coordinator, Corporate Program Manager and District Labor Relations Manager; all services and experiences that have been gifted to me by God to be used by God in the work of the ministry.
And so God began to use everything that He had given to me. The Lord’s House International Ministries, Inc. was founded by God for the spread of the gospel in April, 2007. I have the privilege of being the founding pastor of this amazing ministry with such an amazing staff.
Our vision statement is summed up in our tag line “Walking in Expectation. Living as God Intends.” I believe that God intends for us to live in expectancy; expecting to receive the inherited blessings as promised to Abraham through a risen Savior Jesus Christ; living every day, expecting to have more, be more, give more, do more and achieve more to the glory of Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit.
I believe that the individual lists of our credentials and accomplishments are tools given to us by God and for God to use according to His will, for no matter the quantity of accolades given to our credit the true abundance of life is ours only because of the sacrifice and love of Jesus Christ. Therefore, everything that we do and have should be used to His glory. I believe that Paul said it best in his address to the Church of Corinth:
1And I, brethren, when I came to you, did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring to you the testimony of God. 2For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.1 Cor 2:1-2
That said, you will best know me upon this profession: “My (Pastor Wesley L. Harris) truest aim and focus is to preach and teach the unadulterated gospel of Jesus Christ to all that have ears to hear through the power and direction of the Holy Spirit to the glory of Almighty God.
We have an amazing family here at the Lord’s House and I am honored to be considered His servant in the appointed capacity of pastor.
